Giving back through life-changing experiences.
Giving back through life-changing experiences.
When I met Mr.Abdul Nasir Maudany Founder Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party – Kerala in the month of December 1999 at Salem Central Jail – Involved in Coimbatore Bomb Blast Case – On the eve of Indian Airlines Flight 814 hijack – en route from Tribhubin International Airport in Katmandu Nepal to Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi on 24.12.1999 – to Kandahar Afghanistan and encountered him with the Statement of Mr.O.Rajagopal, then Minister of State Government of India that the hijackers are demanding the release of Mr.Abdul Nasir Maudany from the Prison in exchange for the release of the hostages involved in the Hijack of Indian Airlines Flight, Mr.Abdul Nasir Maudany immediately responded that for him out of his two eyes – One eye is India and the other eye is Islam so he does not want any support from any Foreign Militant Group for his release since he is having full confidence in Indian Judiciary.
But for majority of the Indians both eyes are for their religion only and they are more faithful and sincere towards their religion. They will go to any extent for their religion at the cost of the Mother Nation. They don’t mind even in destroying Mother Land for the sake of their religion.
I strongly felt My Nation is My Breath and my religion is only after that.
The Indian Freedom Fighters - Pulithevan from Tamil Nadu in the year 1751 and Mira Muhammed Siraj - UD – Daulah from Bengal in the year 1757 set aside their religion apart, waged war against British for Indian Independence and sacrificed their life for the sake of their Nation.
On 14th August 2014, when 126 Freedom Fighters Portraits were displayed at Race Course, Coimbatore and on 15th August 2014, when 3.5 km World longest Indian National Flag was unfurled, I was shocked and upset on hearing the voices of the young and the elders that for the first time they have seen most of the Freedom Fighters Portraits.
Even though the same voices have been echoed whenever the Freedom Fighters Portraits were displayed in Educational Institutions, the way in which the electrified and enthusiastic students have paid their respect and homage were remarkable and amazing. “The portraits made me to cry even at this age” was the comment of an emotional and chocked voice of an 80 year old businessman.
Though there are lot of information about Great Freedom Fighters are available both in the Social media and in the books only few have the chance to read. Even after 74 years of Independence only selected freedom fighters sacrificial life has been taught in the Educational Institutions. Most of the Freedom Fighters sacrificial life was suppressed.
